Flint is the name of the geological rarity of the hilltop of contrada palui. Sharp daggers and arrow heads were realised here during stone age. In combination with limestone and blocs of black basalt, buried in the soil, a uniquely mineral spot is created that is reflected in our wines. Valpolicella and Amarone are made of a "Gemischter Satz", the combination of mainly three different autochthonous grape varieties: Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella. Their thick skin allows for the grapes to be dried, as it is traditionally done for Amarone. We employ this technique also for our Valpolicella Superiore.

Our wines - uncompromising expression of our terroir

It is this drying that condenses the substances in the grapes and creates that intense taste and complexity that has made Amarone one of the great wines of the world. For drying, the grapes are carefully placed in small cassettes during harvest, which is done exclusively by hand. The intense fruit notes are perfectly complemented by the minerality and freshness of our special terroir. Besides the strictly organic growing of the grapes, wooden barrels, red and white clay amphorae and steel barrels are combined in order for intense, fruity and complex wines to be born that are also very elegant.

Amarone  della Valpolicella DOCG 2018

AMARONE della Valpolicella is our flagship. Perfect grapes, singolarly hand picked and gently laid into small boxed are airdried for 2-3 months. In the end they give birth to a very complex and deep wine which is, thanks to our special terroir, also very succulent and elegant. Minerality and spicyness are juxtaposed to note of mature fruit with a long finish.

Ageing takes place in small and medium wooden barrels for ca. 24 months, followed by 24-30 months in the bottle.

campo selce

Valpolicella DOC Superiore 2020

campo selce reflects our soil which is particolarly rich of flint. It distinguishes itself through a multilayered and yet subtle fruit, paired with minerality and spicyness as well as fine notes of chocolate- and dried grapes.

After an accurate selection almost all grapes are airdried for 2-3 weeks in small boxes. The wine is aged for about 12 months in large and small wooden barrels and, for a small part, in red clay amphorae, and then for 12-18 months in the bottle.

graspo alto  Valpolicella DOC 2022

graspo alto is a noble variant of the daily wine, characterized by very vivid and expressive fruit and flowery notes, paired with freshness and minerality.

The aging in red clay amphorae intensifies the aroma and flavour highlighting balsamic nuances. I nostri vigneti a 500 metri di altitudine ricchi di pietra focaia donano a questo vino identità, freschezza e sapidità.

It matures for about 5 months in red clay amphorae and at least 6 months in the bottle.

böora ròsat Verona Rosato IGT 2022

böora ròsat is „Cimbro“, an antique dialect of German origin spoken in the Lessinia, the mountain area at the back of contrada palui. It means “pink cloud”, a homage to the impressive sun sets in the infinite sky above our hill top vineyards.

A vibrant wine that impresses with its wrapping fruit and captivating sapidity. Produced almost exclusively from the autochthonous grapes Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella it matures for about 5 months in white clay amphorae with 2 daily batonnage in the first 3-4 weeks.
